Return & Exchange Policy

Carousel & Rocking Horses acts as a broker, connecting private sellers with buyers of antique and vintage carousel animals, rocking horses, and related pieces. Because we facilitate transactions between independent parties - and because every item we list is a one-of-a-kind art - our policy differs from that of a standard retail store.

All Sales Are Final

Antiques and vintage collectibles are sold in their existing, aged condition. All sales are considered final once payment is made and the transaction is confirmed. We do not accept returns or offer exchanges for buyer's remorse, change of mind, or dissatisfaction with condition details that were disclosed in the listing.

We strongly encourage all buyers to review listing photos carefully, read condition notes in full, and contact us with any questions before committing to a purchase. We are happy to request additional photos, measurements, or detail descriptions from the seller on your behalf.

Exception: Item Is Significantly Not as Described

If an item arrives in a condition materially different from what was represented in the listing - for example, undisclosed structural damage, a missing piece shown in photos, or an inaccurate representation of the artist, manufacturer, or type of animal depicted - you may be eligible for a partial or full refund.

To initiate a claim:

  1. 1. Contact us within 5 business days of delivery.
  2. 2. Provide photographic documentation clearly showing the discrepancy between the listing and the item received.
  3. 3. We will review the claim with the seller and work toward a fair resolution, which may include a partial refund, return of the item at the seller's expense, or another agreed remedy.

We cannot process claims submitted after 5 business days of confirmed delivery.

Shipping Damage

Large carved wood pieces are fragile and require careful handling. We strongly recommend that buyers:

  • •Inspect all packaging and the item itself at the time of delivery, before the carrier departs if possible.
  • •Note any visible damage on the carrier's delivery receipt.
  • •Document damage with photos immediately.

Shipping damage claims must be filed directly with the carrier. We recommend buyers retain all original packaging materials until the claim is resolved. We are glad to assist you with documentation or correspondence if needed.

Exchanges

Because each piece is unique, like-for-like exchanges are not possible. If a return is approved under the "not as described" exception above, the buyer will receive a refund rather than a replacement.

Our Role as Broker

Carousel & Rocking Horses is not the seller of record for any listed item. Our role is to represent listings accurately and facilitate communication and transactions between buyers and sellers. We make every effort to ensure listings are truthful and complete, but we rely on information provided by sellers and are not liable for undisclosed defects unknown to the seller.
